Palletisation means stacking and securing goods on a pallet for handling. It lets forklifts move cargo quickly and protects cartons during storage and transport. Goods are usually shrink-wrapped to keep the stack stable. Correct palletisation also helps meet the requirements of buyers and carriers, and it makes counting stock and loading trucks much easier.

FIFO ships the oldest stock first, and FEFO ships what expires first. FIFO means first in, first out, and it suits general stock. A bonded warehouse stores imported goods before customs duty is paid. ISPM 15 is the international standard for wood packaging in trade. It requires wood packaging, such as pallets and crates, to be heat-treated or fumigated to stop pests spreading. Compliant wood carries an IPPC mark. Many countries check for this mark at import, so non-compliant packaging can lead to delays, treatment or rejection of your cargo.
